Originally from Caraquet, New Brunswick, Carl Philippe Gionet holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Université de Moncton (New Brunswick), as well as a Master of Music degree in Interpretation from the Université de Montréal (Quebec).
Carl Philippe has extensive musical experience as both a soloist and a collaborative artist and he works regularly with several different professional and amateur performers and choirs. He participates numerous festivals and concert series and has been a regular performer in Barachois N.B. for many years. Last May, Carl performed as part of the Orford Center for the Arts concert series in Quebec. Since 2004, he has been an accompanist at the Université de Montréal and pianist for the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal. He is also titular organist and choir master at Saint-Joseph de Mont-Royal.
Carl Philippe has been awarded several scholarships throughout his university studies, including the Prix d'Excellence Pacal-Poirier and the Clément-Cormier Award. Some of his recitals have been recorded for radio and television by Radio-Canada. He performs regularly in Canada and in France as accompanying pianist for singer Sandra LeCouteur.
Carl Philippe is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the Université de Montréal under the direction of Paul Stewart.
